The Wrice Agency was founded by me, Jennifer Wrice, a North Texas native with deep roots in the insurance industry. After spending years in the Alaska insurance market—where I learned creative problem-solving and developed a reputation for finding coverage solutions others couldn’t—I brought that expertise home to Denton.
The name “Wrice” comes from my family, and while it causes some spelling confusion, it’s also memorable. Once you meet us, you’ll never forget us—whether you call us Wrice or Rice!
From Alaska to Texas: A Journey Home
I grew up in North Texas, but life took me to Alaska for several years. If you’ve never worked in the Alaska insurance market, let me tell you—it’s unlike anywhere else.
Alaska’s extreme weather, remote locations, and specialized industries create unique insurance challenges. I worked with clients who needed coverage for everything from fishing boats to remote cabins to businesses operating in sub-zero temperatures. I learned how to think outside the box, navigate complex underwriting scenarios, and find solutions when others said “no.”
That experience shaped how I approach insurance today. When a client comes to me with a tricky situation—a contractor with a unique project, a homeowner in a high-risk area, a business with specialized needs—I don’t panic. I’ve seen tougher challenges, and I know how to solve them.
In 2025, I came home to Denton. I missed my roots, my community, and the Texas warmth (both the weather and the people). I purchased Rod Overlander’s book of business and officially launched The Wrice Agency.
